Dear Friends in Japan and India,

Snow in USA We love the snow!

It is currently stacked up 3 to 5 inches.

It snows from December to February. Sometimes we even get some snow in November and March.

Just the other day, the wind got very strong at times and with a temperature of about 18 degrees it dropped to -5 degrees with the wind chill factored into it. Playing In The Snow

Most of the northeast United States has the same weather at this time, including Washington D. C. Some get more snow from what is called the "Lake Effect Snow" because of the Great Lakes. We are sometimes effected by Lake Erie.

Can you find Lake Erie to the north of Ohio on the map or globe (you write "grobe") you use? We used a globe that talks to listen to the different times we have.

We do have to dress very warm when it gets this cold.

I wear a T-shirt, long-sleeved shirt, and a sweatshirt. (Alexa)

I wear a T-shirt, turtleneck, and a sweater. (Matthew)

I like to wear long johns underneath to keep warm. (Sara)

We wonder...do you know what "long johns" and "turtlenecks" are? You might think these are funny names for clothing! If you do not know we will draw you pictures.

December 21st was our first day of winter, and it will last until spring starts March 20th.

Are your shovels pointed like it looks in the drawing? (Charlie) Ours are more of a rectangular shape.

How close are you to the ocean? Does it effect your weather? I like to visit the ocean, but we live far away. (Jennifer)

How often do you get to visit the ocean? (John)

Are you near the Bermuda Triangle? (Charlie)
