While participating in the Global Virtual Classroom projects, you may be tempted to casually use an image or excerpt from a book, magazine, poster or other website. Resist this temptation!
The Global Virtual Classroom's copyright policy is to be aware of and observe copyright law. We expect participating teachers to comply. Teaching students to respect copyright and intellectual property is part of teaching about the Internet, just like "netiquette."
If you put any non-original, copyrighted material on your website, you must get permission from the copyright owner and then properly cite that owner on your website.
Those who violate this copyright policy will be penalized, for instance, GVC Contest websites that incorporate copyright materials without permission may be disqualified or will receive low scores from the judges.
