Student Testimonials

Nate“It is a great way to communicate with other countries and people, and to learn about what is happening in other countries at the same time.”
- Nate, Grade 7, Percy Julian Middle School, USA

cameron“I think we did great as a collaborative group. I think I have learned how to work with each even though we were in different countries. that even though we live miles away from each other we have our similarities.  I have learnt about being responsible to complete work because we’re doing this for someone else and to tell people about our country. Yes I would like to do this again because it was fun and it was a chance to share and talk to different people who are on the other side of the world to us.”
- Cameron, Grade 5, Benedict Biscop Primary C.E. School, England

ronva“The project was fun and we’ve learned a lot from it.
I think that the project has really important meaning; the meaning is that people from all around the world can work together and have fun.
On this project we wrote about kindness and we also did kindness.
I had a great time when I worked on the project and I wish for another project.”
- Ronya, Grade 5, Ein Ganim School, Israel

“Our experience with other cultures was amazing. Aviv, my partner from Israel made me feel like I lived in Israel. She did a wonderful job about telling me about Israel. It is amazing to think that they are far away from us but still are getting a chance to experience Indiana and are experience to learn about how they live. Also one of the writers named Gaya B. has inspired me to become a better writer.  We have communicated in lots of ways like Email, Podcasts, Blogs, Skype, and Gifts that we got to share on Holidays. It is so much fun to learn about a different culture. Especially when the person from that culture teaches you about it. This is a Wonderful World!”
- Megan, Grade 6, Harrison Elementary School, USA

“I think it's a good opportunity for me to work with other countries. I learned how to communicate with other people of different nationality and different cultures. I have learned about communication skills and to gain information. I learned to do my work properly in a specified time. This will help me to do my work in a good way. I am waiting for an opportunity to do this again. We like to have some more time for communications.”
- Gnanambika, Grade 10, C S Ramachary Secondary School, India

“My favorite part of GVC was creating stories, podcasts and music for the website. I liked looking at our finished project on the website. I really liked connecting with the kids from Indiana and Israel. I really liked working with the kids from other schools and countries. It was cool to know we were working together even though we never met. I thought it was cool that even though we were far away, we had similar technology.”
- Kyra, Grade 5, Abraham Lincoln Elementary, USA

“I think we worked really hard and well as a team. Everyone contributed to this massive project. I have learned about other cultures and people as well as the past of my local area. Furthermore I have learned to help other people and communicate with them. I have learned to work with people across the world and I have learned how to enjoy new things that I have never tried before. I have learned that I am good at getting my work finished on time and that I learn best when it’s quiet.”
- Christopher, Grade 5, Benedict Biscop Primary C.E. School, England

“Our group worked well together, all of our ideas came together nicely, with not a lot of conflict. From working on GVC I've learned a lot about flash and CSS. From working on GVC I've learned that communication is key when working with other people from across the globe. I would like to do a project like this again because it's different than working on something in class.”
- Keith, Grade 11, Athens District High School, Canada

“Well, I think that, we did our best. It creates a new environment for us to speak with out country student. It gave us good experience. I have learnt to converse with friends. We have learnt that working with other students creates a good understanding and also strengthens us. I have learned to be more responsibility by this project. Yes, I will like to do this kind of project because I always like to participate like this project. I would like to have more interaction session.”
- Pattu, Grade 10, C S Ramachary Secondary School, India

“I think we worked really well as a collaborative group. It was a good group experience because people farther away have different perspectives than us. I learned that working with others far away has its advantages and disadvantages. When working with other students, I learned that they have very different perspectives than us but there all the same in a way. I have learned that its responsible to complete my work when others are counting on me. In this project I liked how we were able to work with new people to get new perspectives.”
- James, Grade 11, Athens District High School, Canada

“We had a good chance to share our views among our group. I learned how to converse with others and know about my friend's intelligence. I learned to share my merits and demerits with others. I think I had good relation with others when I am a member of the team.  I would like to do this kind of project again. If I get the opportunity. It helped me to develop my creativity. I had changed my behavior and attitude and had developed my knowledge.”
- Gowtham, Grade 10, C S Ramachary Secondary School, India

“I really enjoyed GVC and learned a lot. I was always looking forward to it during the week. My favorite thing was Garageband and Photoshop Elements, in those things you create, and that’s what I like to do the most. After that I like nicenet, I think it’s fun to communicate with kids around the world.”
-Christopher, Grade 5, Abraham Lincoln Elementary, USA

Yes I would like to do it again; it is really fun working with another school and even a different county.”
-Ellie, Grade 5, Benedict Biscop Primary C.E. School, England

“All of us had a wonderful moments of interactive experience through doing this project. It was interesting because each of us had own opinion and we brainstormed a lot to make it as one. We the GVC08-16 team learned and gained many important things from this creation of website. We collaborated well and made a strong bond between each 3 schools.”
