twiducate - and how to use it
The tool used by teams to connect and show collaboration is called TWIDUCATE [twiducate.com]. Judges can look at the teams' communication here also, and see how they have exchanged ideas. Social networks are also a good way to communicate, however, many are blocked by some school systems. If your team is able to use other means of cummunication, please put a link in your team's twiducate link area, so we can see the collaboration.
Twiducate is not difficult to use, however, for first time users, things are sometimes confusing. Here are a set of PDFs that will help you learn and use the system.
First Steps
- Sign-up.pdf -- Teachers need to register with twiducate;
students do not. [See adding students below in the teacher functions.]
- Login.pdf -- Login screen and entering anti-spam-bot code.
Profile Edits
- EditingStudentProfile.pdf --
Student can edit profile and add an avatar
- TeacherProfile.pdf -- Teacher can edit profile, add an avatar, and control settings.
Teacher & Studentnt functions
- PostChat.pdf -- When to post, when to chat.
- Coming soon -- Print. Need to wait until there is 'something' there.
Teacher only functions
- AddStudents.pdf - Each teacher will add his/her students to the team's class.
- AddDates.pdf - Place to put due dates as well as school
holiday breaks.
- AddLinks.pdf - Teachers can add links (some already
added by GVC.)
- AddTeacher.pdf - Add other teachers or adults from your school who are helping.
- AddClass.pdf - Some teachers may want to use twiducate for their classes outsice of GVC.
Once you have registered to twiducate, you are ALWAYS registered. If you are already registered, just send the GVC Program Manager the email address you used.
